I like technology/electronics, cosmology, and astronomy.
I co-own a language school in NY and SF, and I’m working on an M.A. in Language Education at NYU, so I’m always up for discussing the merits of current L2 acquisition theory, methods and approaches and why Rosetta Stone sucks besides their annoying advertising.
I'm currently studying Mandarin, Arabic, Russian and ASL. My German needs work, and my Italian is total crap. I teach French and Mandarin when I have time. I can get by in Spanish. I'd like to pick up Japanese and Dutch at some point. I forgot the Latin ages ago.

I'm a total dreamer. I spend my of my time living in a virtual world or imagining the future. I'm happy when I'm dreaming big even if I know it won't happen, I have to keep hope.
If it’s on Sci-Fi, Discovery, History, NGC, PBS, or the Science Channel, I probably watch it. I’ve only recently started watching broadcast TV again recently. This season I’m all about Sanctuary, Knight Rider, and Dexter! I’m still keeping up with Doctor Who, Big Bang Theory, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, and counting down the days to new episodes of Torchwood, Stargate Atlantis, Eureka, and Alien Boot Camp. I've recently started watching MI-5 and Chimp Eden (they're just so cute!). My new passion is "Dans une galaxie près de chez vous".
I don't really have the attention span for movies, and I'm not a theatre or musical buff so all you artsy-fartsy queens who get off on discussing the merits of "Carrie" the musical ad nauseam, go away!
I get my news from BBC/TF1/NYTimes/CNET and my laughs from the Big Gay Sketch Show.

I want a more active social life. I’ve fallen into the bottomless pit of work and school. I’m looking for people with similar interests to go out for a drink, have dinner, play games, chat, etc. Local friends with benefits a plus, but the friend part has to come first.
My tastes:
I like people who are laid-back and generally light-hearted and intelligent but not arrogant. Sketchy, scattered people wear me out. I’m always on time, so if we make plans to meet, I will either be there or at least have the courtesy to call and cancel.
I abhor superficial discussions about "stars" and other popular icons that have nothing to do with me or the world as a whole. Ask me about anything else.
A good time for me would be getting a drink at a coffee house or pub with a small group of people and talking about whatever comes up. Usually tech, games, cosmology, linguistics, or psychology will keep me interested for hours on end. I also cast natal astrological charts for fun and no I do not think they can predict the future but are very fun describing personality traits.
